The day starts early here, and it starts quietly. Before the valley below has properly woken, the light is already on the hills, and on a clear morning Mount Meru stands out against the sky.
Most guests find their way to the coffee corner first. The kitchen opens onto the sitting room, so the kettle, the cups and the view are all in the same place. There is no schedule to keep. Take your coffee out to the terrace, or back to bed.
The garden is at its busiest in that first hour. The birds are loudest before the heat arrives, and if you sit still long enough the whole hillside seems to wake up around you.
By the time the sun is fully up, the pool has caught the light and the day can go wherever you like: a walk into Kisongo, a morning at the desk with the doors open to the view, or nothing at all.
We think the first hour is the best of it. Come and see for yourself.
